JW Note:  Above is the first of what I hope will be many contributions by patent draftsman Tim Riesen.  Tim has graciously agreed to allow the AT! blog to publish his work on the “Patent Zombie” series, which he plans to produce as a monthly comic editorial.

As some of you may know, in addition to being a self-proclaimed geek (really, how many patent practitioners are not?), I am also a zombie fiction fan.   I hope you enjoy his work as much as I have!

On another note, Tim is an excellent patent draftsman . . . I highly recommend his work to any patent practitioners in our readership who may be looking for an illustrator!

If the MPEP were shown about twice that thick, and 2 Volumes, and if the jacket said Art Group 2442 on it…it would be perfect.

Does Mr. Riesen have his own web page?

Is the Zombie a Patent Attorney or an Examiner? Please provide some back story…

@ Mike – Part of the fun is in interpreting the cartoon yourself ;-). What do you see?

Looking forward to more of Tim’s artwork in the future. Maybe he can tackle patent reform next?
