U.S. Pat. No. 5,578,617:  Method and apparatus for making a drink hop along a bar or counter.

What is claimed is:

          1. A system for conveying liquid in the interior of a building comprising a horizontal surface of a bar top, which horizontal surface is supported above ground level by at least one vertical leg and is adapted to be surrounded by seating and used as an eating and drinking surface to place food and drinks thereon; said surface having a receiving area;
          a conduit containing a liquid to be transported to said area;
          means for providing fluid pressure for moving the fluid in said conduit to a valving means;
          said valving means effective to cause a fluid stream to flow from said conduit though an opening in said surface in an arcuate stream into said area; and
          means for controlling said valving means.

The Marion Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a program on intellectual property protection, covering inventions, patents, trademarks, and copyrights on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM, as part of their BAGELS & BUSINESS series.  The seminar will be held at the Marion Area Chamber, Garden Room – Inside Harding Centre, 267 West Center Street, Marion, Ohio.

All businesses have intellectual property in one form or another. Entrepreneurs and business leaders interested in learning more about this important topic are encouraged to attend.

1. A frame for supporting a toilet seat, comprising a horizontal extension member having a first end and a second end,
a horizontal back rail connected to the extension member second end, the back rail having a first and second end, the back rail connected to the extension member at a point between the back rail’s first and second end,
the back rail having mounting apertures,
said mounting apertures being approximately five and one half inches part,
a left arm extending from the back rail first end,
a right arm extending from the back rail second end,
the extension member is a 2 inch square tube,
the back rail is a 1.5 inch square tube,
the extension member second end having a 1.5 inch notch, and

          1. A pliable plastic cover of the character described, comprising a body portion, terminating at one end in a hood-like portion arranged to cover a substantial portion of the head of an a[n]imal, said hood portion having an opening therein, bound with an elastic element, the opposite end of said body porition having an extension for receiving the tail of an animal, reinforced leg poritions depending from said body portion, a longitudinal opening in said body portion, a slide fastener for closing said longitundinal openeing, and a plurality of vent elements arranged in spaced relation in said body portion and said leg portions.

Marion Area Business Plan Competition hosted by The Forge.

We had the honor of being a judge for the Marion Area Business Plan Competition hosted by The Forge Business Accelerator yesterday evening.  This was an opportunity for local entrepreneurs to showcase their business ideas to the community and to win a grand prize of $2,500 for the best business idea.  There were a total of seven pitches given throughout the evening.  Congratulations to the winner, Cindy Binns, with the winning business plan for the Children’s Museum of Marion!

Ashland University – Dauch College of Business Presentation – August 8, 2017.

The Braintree Business Development Center is sponsoring a program on intellectual property protection, covering inventions, patents, trademarks, and copyrights on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.  The seminar will be held at Ashland University, Dauch College of Business and Economics, 401 College Avenue, Ashland, OH 44805.

Every business has intellectual property (IP), in one form or another. Protecting IP is important, but it can also be expensive. With startups especially, every dollar matters. Therefore, deciding whether and how to spend funds on IP protection is a key question that should be answered in the early stages of every new business.
