New Patent Design Unveiled – March 11, 2018

The USPTO unveiled today the new patent grant cover at a special South by Southwest (SXSW) event, and discussed the significance and history of the document with intellectual property stakeholders and the press.  Below are images of the new patent grant cover taken at the presentation (left) and the previous cover (right).

This is only the second time in a hundred years that the USPTO has redesigned the patent grant cover.  The timing of the unveiling and new cover is especially significant, in that the USPTO will be issuing U.S. Patent Number 10,000,000 in the very near future!
