Intellectual Property Law: Patently Good Ideas for Business & Entrepreneurs

Monday, October 08, 2018 — 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Pickaway County Main Library — Koch Meeting Room

In this seminar, Registered Patent Attorney Jake Ward will provide an overview of Intellectual Property (IP) law, and explain the differences between patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. He will be available to answer your questions about these important topics.

Understanding intellectual property as a business tool is important for both established companies and entrepreneurs. Every established business has IP, in one form or another. IP also has value for entrepreneurs and start-ups, as a way to secure funding and grow new businesses. Licensing of IP can also be an effective way of monetizing new ideas and inventions.

Mr. Ward is an adjunct professor at the University of Toledo, College of Law, where he teaches classes on substantive Patent Law and Patent Practice.

This program is free and open to the public; no registration required.
